Assumption of the Grand Mastership

Dear brothers and sisters of Ordre Reaux Croix,
It is with a heart full of gratitude, and with the deepest sense of stewardship and responsibility, that I have accepted the high office to which I have been appointed: that of Grand Master of the Order for the next decade.
In my journey in Ordre Reaux Croix these past twenty years, I have witnessed the expression of the Martinezist and Martinist tradition in a manner, and with a depth and wisdom, which I have never encountered anywhere else in the world. Thanks to the original Grand Master of our modern manifestation of the Order, Sâr Lucius de la Croix, who travelled the world gathering lineages with the vision of bringing the three branches of the Order together under one banner, we have today a complete structure of progression in the mystical, theurgical and chivalric approaches to the work.
I want to thank Sâr Desír de la Croix, the second Grand Master of our Order, for a body of work that no letter such as this could ever do justice to. I had the pleasure of working at his side as Grand Chancellor for these past fourteen years, and the research and dedication he has brought to the Order is something we have all witnessed and experienced.
Now I have assumed this office of Grand Master, bestowed upon me on the 29th of August 2026. My first act as Grand Master has been to welcome Sâr Desír de la Croix as Grand Guardian and to appoint Mistress Yeva as Grand Chancellor of the Order, and thus our Sovereign Council stands erected in the Grand Temple Aurora.
Over the next ten years it is my sincere desire to help Ordre Reaux Croix emerge from this present period of quiet stronger, more developed, and more effective in bringing our Martinist mysteries to the world.
During this last quarter of 2026, I wish to communicate directly with all the Temple Masters of the Order, to take inventory of the current membership, and to gauge our members’ dedication and their desire to become active once more. I therefore ask every Temple Master to write to me at [email protected] so that we may meet before the end of the year and together take stock of where we stand and where the Order is going.
The world as we know it is rapidly changing, and many people “of the stream” desire a life that is more meaningful, more aware, more centred. The task laid before us is not only to live in accordance with our Mysteries, but to assist in their manifestation for the benefit of all. Let us therefore labour together, my brothers and sisters, and may our Work be under the auspices of the Unknown Philosopher.
Eternal Origin, in your Name I leave all that the world has draped me in and become who I am and was before the beginning.

Transmission of the Grand Mastership

Beloved Brothers and Sisters of the Ordre Reaux Croix, in all Temples and in all Valleys.
On Saturday the 29th day of August, in the year two thousand and twenty-six, in Aurora, the Grand Temple of the Order, in the Valley of Oslo in Norway, I transferred the office of Grand Master onto our Brother Sâr Coën de la Croix.
He is known to many of you as Sâr Animus de la Croix and has chosen to assume a new Nomen Mysticum upon the conferral of the office. He served as my Grand Chancellor for the whole of my Grand Mastership. He has been a very close friend, and a brother with whom I have had enormous joy in working closely with for over 20 years in all Branches of our Order, but especially in the Élus Coën, from our reception as Maîtres Coëns and onward through the Réau+Croix.
Upon this transmission, Sâr Lucius de la Croix, Past Grand Master of the Order, who has held the office of Grand Guardian, retires from the work of the Grand Council, to take up his mantle in the Consistorium. I assume that office in his place and will support the new Grand Master through his tenure in the decade to come.
On the Tenure
Our Lawbook gives a Grand Master of the Ordre Reaux Croix a time of service set to ten years. These past fourteen have been otherwise. The global pandemic made the work of the Order difficult for a long season, and I have as a result held the office some years longer. That season is now closed. I look forward with real gladness to seeing the work go on as Brother Coën constitutes his Council and carries the light of our Order into a new era under his guidance.
My eternal gratitude
To Sâr Lucius de la Croix, who has been a steady hand and support throughout this period, with his vast experience both of governing the Ordre Reaux Croix and of making difficult decisions when there is no straight path, but many crooked ones.
To Sâr Coën de la Croix, for his arduous labour as Grand Chancellor, and for his dedication to the ever-going mission of the Order: to uncover, to bring to light, to make available and to expound the origins of our tradition. His many findings of hitherto unknown and unpublished manuscripts from the very earliest days of Martinez de Pasqually have broadened what this Order can honestly say about itself.
To all the Masters and Officers of the Temples, who do the work that matters most: making the treasure house that is the Martinist tradition available to men and women of desire across the whole earth.
To Sister Yeva, who has held many terms as Temple Master in different regions of the world, and who has done enormous work in translating the newer teachings of the Order into the English language, and in deciphering key alchemical tracts that are cornerstones of the further work in the higher echelons of our degrees.
To Sister Zoe, who has served countless terms as Temple Master, who has been a mentor to so many brothers and sisters, and who has played a key part in seeing that our ageless rituals meet the day and age in which the tradition must now unfold. She has served the Council as Keeper of Seals.
And to every member of the Ordre Reaux Croix, for the work you do each day, and for the work you have done throughout my Grand Mastership. Thank you.
On the way we have chosen
Ours is not an ascetic order, nor a monastic one. The life we choose, actively pursuing an all-encompassing spiritual life, is as full of hardships as it is of blessings. Choosing that life while also taking full part in the mundane world removes the benefits granted by life in silent and isolated contemplation. It asks of us instead that we bring the fruits of our labours into that world for the benefit of others, and that we maintain a chain of unity among ourselves, and among those into whose lives we are brought.
This has not been an easy task in the past fourteen years. It will remain an arduous one in the years to come. Such is the destiny and the election of mankind, as we strive to keep a sacred flame of Truth, Peace and Harmony alight in a world where the stormy winds rage fiercer than they have done in many, many years.
We continue this work as those who went before us continued it, the masters of the past: with zeal, patience and humility.
And I personally will do so with great joy, with passion, and with excitement for where the future will carry us.
The act
Therefore, I make known to the whole Order: the traditional transmission of the custodianship of the Ordre Reaux Croix to my very dear friend and eternal Brother, Sâr Coën de la Croix, performed before the Flambeaux as my last official act in my capacity as Grand Master.
